Shinhan Finance contributes children books to Hanoi Library

Ho Chi Minh City, 11.06.2020 – Shinhan Vietnam Finance Company Ltd., (Shinhan Finance), which was recognized as The Best Consumer Finance Company For Customer Service Vietnam 2018*, announced its book project which contributed 4,231 new children books to Hanoi library, which are in need of more good-quality books for the local children. These books were recommended and supplied by Kim Dong, the largest publisher and distributor of children's books in Vietnam.

To date, the Project has been to 4 libraries across Vietnam, donated 27 new book shelves with more than 10,230 books and decorated 4 reading rooms, including Nam Dinh, Thua Thien Hue, Bac Giang and Hanoi public libraries.

In the third consecutive year of this project themed “Fulfil Your Dreams And Happiness”, which is extended to promote active reading among Vietnamese children, it continues to support the company’s commitment to advocate literacy and a reading culture to better equip the future generation.

In Vietnam, children are keen to read text books for academic reasons than reading books outside the school syllabus. The importance of enhancing the accessibility of books in the public libraries and providing a variety of contents are often highlighted to promote active reading as a powerful tool to encourage children to pick up and finish a book themselves.

After Nam Dinh, Thua Thien Hue and Bac Giang, Hanoi is the fourth location we invested in more good books for Vietnamese children. We are still on the way to bring this up at national scope.”

At the same day, Shinhan Finance received the Certificate of Appreciation by the Department of Culture and Sport of Hanoi City, No. 439/QĐ-SVHTT issued on June 04^th, 2020, for the company’s support to local Culture and Sports and Hanoi public library as well.
