Ho Chi Minh city, 13/12/2020 – Shinhan Vietnam Finance Company Limited (Shinhan Finance) employees and sales agents have responses to calls from Da Nang Red Cross Society for blood donation in severe blood scarcity situation by organizing a volunteering day in Da Nang, where we contributed nearly 40 bags of blood.
Held at the Phan Chau Trinh Highschool, 167 Le Loi street, Hai Chau ward, Da Nang city, it was jointly organized by the Da Nang Red Cross Society, and Shinhan Finance Trade Union, a group which works to help facilitate blood donation event.
This is the third time in 2020 that Shinhan Finance has organized its blood donation events at company level to create caring and sharing of Shinhan Finance staff and public audiences to hundred thousands of patients. This community supporting activity of Shinhan Finance becomes regular with hundreds of volunteers coming together for the hope and lives of many patients.
Currently, the blood supply may be in reducing as impact of COVID-19, and Red Cross Society always needs the help of the community and organizations to donate blood for timely support. Blood donation is the opportunity for Shinhan Finance contributing realistic support to the community with Compassionate Finance spirit.
More than 90 liters of blood have been given by Shinhan Finance employees and their relatives in 2020.
It is safe to donate blood. Red Cross Society have implemented several new safety measures in response to COVID-19 to provide a safe donation experience for blood donors who join the event at Phan Chau Trinh Highschool in Da Nang city. Each donation can save up to three lives, and takes less than an hour to donate.
Ms. Truong Thi Ngoc Thao – a volunteer at Da Nang event - shared that "All together for a good thing really make a big impact. Helping people in need, especially saving lives, is the greatest form of kindness each of us can offer to many people”.
“We are delighted by the good turnout of Da Nang employees who supported the noble cause which has contributed to the previous donation's number. I hope this would be inspiration for others in the future.” – Ms. Thao said.

This event also helped our staff in getting awareness about their social responsibilities and showed enthusiastic participation for the same.
