Official Announcement on the Incident Related to Credit Information at CIC

Dear Valued Customers,

On September 12, 2025, the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) issued an official announcement regarding an incident related to credit information at the Credit Information Center of Vietnam (CIC). Accordingly:

SBV has required CIC to promptly report and closely coordinate with competent authorities to verify, handle the incident, and ensure the continuous and uninterrupted operation of CIC.

As regulated, the data collected by CIC does not include sensitive information such as:

• Debit card numbers, credit card numbers, expiration dates, security codes (CVV/CVC).

• OTP, passwords, or customers’ payment transaction history.

The information technology systems of credit institutions, including Shinhan Finance, operate completely independently, safely, and stably. Customer transactions and credit card information at Shinhan Finance are not affected.

SBV regularly instructs credit institutions, including Shinhan Finance, to strengthen inspection and supervision, ensuring strict compliance with regulations on information security, system safety, and the protection of customers’ lawful rights and interests.

Shinhan Finance customers are advised to remain calm, comply with the law and the guidance and recommendations of competent authorities regarding safety and security; and to follow the regulations, guidance, and recommendations of Shinhan Finance as published on our official communication channels, in order to avoid being exploited by malicious actors.
