How to protect yourself from credit scams

Recently, taking advantage of customers' trustworthiness, some individuals and organizations impersonated Banks and Financial companies with sophisticated tricks to intentionally cause confusion to deceive customers.

These scams are increasingly sophisticated, and increasingly widespread. Therefore, if not careful, anyone can become a victim of fraudsters.

All Financial companies have applied many security methods to protect customers’ personal information such as providing information after completing the identification steps on mobile application; two-factor authentication has applied for all financial transactions; checking & take measures to protect network security regularly. In addition, customers are also a very important factor to protect themselves from fraudsters. Following the below habits will keep customers safe from all risks of fraud.

Customer obligations - To protect themselves from becoming a victim of fraudsters

  • Never give out personal information on websites that are not official financial companies, the websites that are not secure with a padlock or “https” on the browser;
  • Do not give passwords, PIN numbers or OTP code of any bank account, loan account, personal email, cards, etc… for unofficial website or anyone on the phone/ message/ email. Reputed Bank/financial companies will not call or email customers for this information.
  • Do not leave account information, ID, password, PIN number, etc… in an area accessible by others.
  • You are responsible for the security of your mobile devices and computer. Always use password protection, don’t share access with others, update security software and back up content. Protect your wifi network with a password and avoid using public computers or wifi hotspots to access online banking or provide personal information.
  • Change passwords on a regular basis and choose passwords that are difficult to guess, include punctuation, special characters, numbers and upper and lower case letters when creating a password.
  • When you are finished accessing online accounts, make sure you logout and close the browser.
