Shinhan Finance contributes children books to An Giang Province Library
Now at its fourth consecutive year encouraging active reading for children under the theme “Fulfil Your Dreams And Happiness”, Shinhan Finance has donated 46 new bookshelves to 8 public libraries in need of more books for their local children.
Hochiminh City, 18 June 2022 – Shinhan Vietnam Finance Company Ltd., (Shinhan Finance), which was recognized and named The Best Sustainability Development Company Vietnam 2020*, announced its book project which contributed 1138 new children books from Kim Dong Publisher and 405 books from Shinhan Card (Korea) to An Giang Province library, which are in need of better-quality books for the local children. These books were recommended and supplied by Kim Dong, the largest publisher and distributor of children's books in Vietnam. Besides, as a part of “Good Hallyu Project”, Shinhan Finance represents Shinhan Card (Korea) donates 405 children books to An Giang Library with the purpose of creating sustainable values and supporting communities from many countries through culture.
To date, the Project has been to 8 libraries across Vietnam, donated 46 new bookshelves with more than 18.000 books and decorated 8 reading rooms, including Nam Dinh, Thua Thien Hue, Bac Giang, Tien Giang, Ha Nam, Hanoi, Dong Nai, and An Giang public libraries.
In the fifth consecutive year of this project themed “Fulfil Your Dreams And Happiness”, which is extended to promote active reading among Vietnamese children, it continues to support the company’s commitment to advocate literacy and a reading culture to better equip the future generation.
In Vietnam, children are keen to read textbooks for academic reasons than reading books outside the school syllabus. The importance of enhancing the accessibility of books in the public libraries and providing a variety of contents are often highlighted to promote active reading as a powerful tool to encourage children to pick up and finish a book themselves.

After Nam Dinh, Thua Thien Hue, Bac Giang, Tien Giang, Ha Nam, Hanoi, Dong Nai, and An giang is the eighth location we invested in more good books for Vietnamese children. We are still on the way to bring this up at national scope.”

At the same day, Shinhan Finance received the Certificate of Appreciation by An giang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, No. 105/QĐ-SVHTTDL issued on 14th June 2022 for the company’s support to local Culture, Sports and Tourism as well as An Giang Province library.
