Shinhan Finance helping GenZ improve its ability to protect consumers' interests

(HCMC) – Shinhan Finance Vietnam Limited Company (Shinhan Finance) accompanied Viet Nam Competition and Consumer Authority (VCCA) and Trade Magazine to organize the "Understanding the Law on Consumer Protection in 2022" Contest for young consumers, especially university students nationwide.

After nearly 2 months of deployment, "Understanding the Law on Consumer Protection in 2022" Contest has spread widely to colleges, universities, and academies, reaching hundreds of students, lecturers, and consumers nationwide through preliminary rounds and final rounds. Therefore, this activity has contributed to helping the younger generation (Gen Z) gain useful knowledge about the law, as well as better understand the purpose, meaning and importance of consumer protection. Through the outstanding competition in 2 rounds, young people have been trained, improved their ability to protect their interests, and have more smart consumption skills when shopping every day.

A representative of Shinhan Finance said that today's young Vietnamese generation is always quick to respond to new consumption trends. However, not many young people deeply understand consumer protection. Therefore, Shinhan Finance wishes to contribute to helping young people gain more knowledge, improve their ability to protect their own consumer rights and share it with the community through "Understanding the Law on Consumer Protection in 2022” Contest.

As a consumer financial company that always accompanies VCCA in communication activities to protect the interests of consumers, Shinhan Financial organized a webinar "The reality of protecting users' interests in consumer loan transactions - Experience international and lessons from Vietnam” within the framework of the ASEAN-Australia - New Zealand Free Trade Agreement. In there, Shinhan Finance shares ways to protect our customer protection through a digital technology platform and communication activities always on.

In addition, many years ago, Shinhan Finance has also been active in many activities to spread the spirit of kindness and green lifestyle for the community, such as a program to share/reuse old items, blood donation and especially the theme “Fulfil Your Dreams and Happiness”. This 2022 is the 5th year Shinhan Finance has donated books to libraries in provinces and cities. Up to now, the project has been organized at 10 provincial and city libraries in Vietnam, giving away 50 bookcases with nearly 20,000 children's books (various topics); has supported decoration to create reading space for 10 reading rooms. The “Fulfil Your Dreams and Happiness” has contributed to arousing the passion and active reading culture for students, thereby helping to nurture and develop a more civilized, progressive, and successful young Vietnamese generation.
