Fraudulent impersonation of Shinhan Finance brand
Currently, there are numerous malicious individuals impersonating the Shinhan Finance brand to deceive and exploit customers. Specifically, these individuals utilize applications (apps) with a counterfeit "Shinhan Vietnam" logo and websites containing content stating "Copyright belongs to Shinhan Vietnam Finance Company Limited" to promote, solicit loans, confirm approvals, and disburse loan amounts, etc. for customers. When falling victim to this fraudulent scheme, customers will not receive the disbursed amount due to " the frozen account" and they will be unable to contact the fraudulent advisors. To proactively prevent customers from falling prey to exploitation by malicious individuals, Shinhan Finance would like to share some illustrative images depicting the methods used by fraudsters to exploit customers.
Shinhan Finance affirms that loan applications are only processed through the exclusive financial management application called iShinhan, and no service fees are charged or requested to customers, such as: "document processing fees", "information adjustment fees", "security deposit" or "advance payment" required for loan disbursement. Customers can download iShinhan from mobile app stores and use it completely free of charge. Additionally, Shinhan Finance does not engage the services of any individuals or organizations for brokerage, guidance on app downloads, or assistance in loan applications/credit card opening through iShinhan. Therefore, in cases of impersonation of the Shinhan Finance brand, the company advises customers to promptly contact the local authorities to report the incident and seek their intervention. |
