Shinhan Finance accompanies Customers to overcome difficulties caused by Covid-19

The 4th wave of Covid-19 is still impacting social activities and extending the economic burden on individuals and businesses. While authorities are working diligently to control the Covid‑19 pandemic, the banking and financial industries are working equally hard to step by step restore the health of the economy.

Despite the fact that it is about to enter the fourth quarter of 2021 with positive signs in disease control, rebuilding lives and human livelihoods can be significant challenges due to a lengthy period of income disruption. Shinhan Finance is committed to always accompanying and sharing the financial burden with customers during the prolonged Covid-19 pandemic, through the implementation of optimal programs according to the State Bank of Vietnam regulation.

According to the direction of the State Bank of Vietnam, based on Circular 01/2020/TT-NHNN (amended and supplemented by Circular 03/2021/TT-NHNN and Circular 14/2021/TT-NHNN) regulating on credit institutions, foreign banks’ branches restructuring debt, waiving, reducing interest and fees, keeping debt-groups to support customers impacted by Covid-19, we actively implement support programs, including the Waiver program and Rescheduling program to Shinhan Finance’s customers nationwide, effective until 06/2022.

These programs are designed to assist our customers who are unable to repay the loan principal and/or interest on time under their loan contract with Shinhan Finance due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. Thereby, the customer will be considered to restructure the repayment term or waive off billed interest, fees on the overdue loan if the programs’ conditions are met.
